Basically, eID is a digital certificate — the only one that’s directly linked to your national identity. When it’s issued, your identity is checked against the Kosovo Civil Registry. And every time you use your eID, it’s verified again in the eID system. That way, anything done with your eID is guaranteed to be done by you.
Do I need the wallet for signing documents?
No, you don't need the wallet for signing documents. When signing from your desktop/laptop/mobile, you need to have the signing app installed and connected to the eID database.
What if I forget the eID security info (PIN/PUK/Password/Username)?
We admit, this can happen. But, don't worry! You can change/recover the eID security information by using the Self Service Portal.
